The Fukuoka Contents Industry Hub Promotion Committee is an organization bringing together a coalition of companies, organizations, and institutions that deal with digital content in the areas of production, distribution, provision of funds, and education with the goal of making Fukuoka Prefecture into a "hub" of the contents industry. We work to facilitate activities in the fields of human resources development, the expansion of business opportunities, focalized transmission, and cooperation and exchange between members.
In Fukuoka, we have come to see results in the integration of the contents industry mainly through the Multimedia Alliance Fukuoka (MAF) in which efforts have been made towards projects in which the skills of creators have been improved and the production functions that connect creators to clients have evolved into fundamental concepts.
Strong growth is expected in the contents industry due to such factors as the digitalization of communication and broadcasting, the rapid spread of broadband infrastructure, and the development of mobile communications. As a result, the contents industry in Japan is being lauded as a strategic industry for the nation.
In the midst of these conditions, Fukuoka has given rise to game software production companies that could become driving forces in the industry. In light of this, new development with the goal of making Fukuoka Prefecture into a hub for the digital contents industry has become necessary - development which is built upon efforts that have been implemented up until now.
In light of this, a group of companies was produced that would become a driving force of the industry. Centered on this group of companies, and in order to enact projects to strengthen industrial integration, the MAF was disbanded and reestablished into a new industry-academia-government collaborative organization known as the Fukuoka Contents Industry Hub Promotion Committee.
We here at the Promotion Committee expect the mobilization of large numbers of organizations including contents production companies, companies that deal with the distribution and provision of funds for digital contents, other user companies in the local business community, contents-related educational institutions, and the government. We would also like to request the exceptional cooperative efforts of everyone involved.
